What do our Park Rangers do?
Our Park Rangers are professionals who assist in the conservation and usage of our park resources. Saint Idisdore Park Rangers ensure that visitors at our locations follow posted rules, and regulations and that they remain safe during their visit or stay.
What responsibilities are common for our Park Rangers?
Our park rangers are responsible for performing duties and operations related to some or all of the following:
- The park’s operations
- Interpretation to Park visitors
- Resource protection/management
- Patrol of Park property
- Provde public safety
- Programs and activities
- Fire Fighter Services
Public Safety and Security Duties
- Patrol Park grounds by vehicle, boat, foot patrol, horseback, etc.
- Enforce Park regulations and issue citations
- Write reports
- Make physical detentions for misdemeanors and felonies
- Conduct investigations
- Perform search and rescue activities
- Assist in wildfire suppression
- Perform rescue missions for stranded mountain climbers or host hikers
- Provide emergency medical assistance and aid
- Perform traffic control
- Assist local and state law enforcement (Mutual Aid) when requested
